Abigail's Party
by Mike Leigh +

Beverly Moss invites her new neighbours, Angela and Tony, over for drinks. She has also invited her neighbour Sue, whose fifteen year-old daughter Abigail is having a party of her own at home. The atmosphere at Beverly’s gathering is rather stiff and insensitive at first, as only the British middle-class can be when surrounded by virtual strangers. But then her husband Laurence arrives and the couple begin sniping at each other, the regularly topped-up drinks take effect and some none-too-subtle flirting occurs between certain guests – and the evening takes on a very different tone...

Please Note: This production is subject to changes in the Corvid-19 restrictions relating to theatres. We will begin selling tickets once the restrictions change.

by David Wood +

Cinderella is tired of a life of chores and the bullying ways of her two ugly sisters. Her only friends are two mice with whom she shares the kitchen. Her dreams of meeting a handsome prince seem hopeless. Until her fairy godmother turns up, that is! A pumpkin becomes a state coach, the mice become white horses and Cinderella’s ragged clothes become a wonderful ballgown. Original songs and music, dance and hilarious knockabout comedy make Cinderella the perfect pre-Christmas treat for adults and children alike. It’s Panto time again!

A Murder is Announced
by Agatha Christie (dramatised by Leslie Darbon) +

‘A murder is announced and will take place on Friday October 29th at Little Paddocks at 6.30pm.’ The villagers of Chipping Cleghorn are agog with curiosity over the advertisement which appears in the local gazette. Can it be a practical joke? Or is it a hoax to scare the inhabitants of Little Paddocks? Unable to resist the intriguing invitation, a crowd duly gathers at the house at the appointed time. And suddenly the lights go out and a gunshot is heard. The bizarre advertisement is no longer a joke. It is murder. And it is up to Agatha Christie’s most unlikely sleuth, the prim but perceptive Jane Marple, to unravel a web of lies and deceptions – and discover whodunnit!

No Sex Please We’re British
a farce by Alistair Foot and Anthony Marriott +

Our season comes to an end with this classic British farce concerning an assistant bank manager, Peter Hunter, who lives in the flat over his bank with his new bride Frances. When Frances sends off a mail order for Scandinavian glassware, the couple are horrified to receive Scandinavian pornography instead. Boxes and boxes of it! Together with the bank’s frantic chief cashier, the couple must decide how to dispose of the dodgy goods before Peter’s mother, his boss, a visiting bank inspector and a police superintendent arrive on the scene!
No Sex Please, We’re British! is an excellent way to round off our season. You’ll still be laughing when we begin our next season!
